Je maakt deze tijd door een vorm van &#8217;to be&#8217; (am, is of are) te combineren met een werkwoord dat eindigt op -ing. Bijvoorbeeld: &#8220;I am studying&#8221; (Ik ben aan het studeren).<br><br><a href=\"https:\/\/studygo.com\/es\/learn\/boekzoeker\/\">Test<\/a><\/p>\n                <\/div>\n                    <\/div>\n    <\/div>\n<\/section><div class=\"content-heading\"><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Wanneer gebruik je de present continuous?<\/h2><\/div><div class=\"content-paragraph\"><p>De present continuous wordt ook wel de &#8216;ing-vorm&#8217; of &#8216;present progressive&#8217; genoemd. Het is een veelgebruikte tijd in het Engels, omdat je ermee kunt aangeven wat er nu gebeurt of wat je binnenkort gaat doen. Er zijn vier belangrijke situaties waarin je de present continuous gebruikt:<\/p><\/div><div class=\"content-heading\"><h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1. Handelingen die nu bezig zijn<\/h3><\/div><div class=\"content-paragraph\"><p>Als iets op dit moment aan de gang is, gebruik je de present continuous. Bijvoorbeeld: &#8220;I am reading a book&#8221; (Ik ben nu een boek aan het lezen) of &#8220;They are playing football&#8221; (Zij zijn aan het voetballen).<\/p><\/div><div class=\"content-heading\"><h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. Tijdelijke situaties<\/h3><\/div><div class=\"content-paragraph\"><p>Ook voor dingen die tijdelijk zijn, maar niet per se op dit exacte moment gebeuren, gebruik je deze tijd. Bijvoorbeeld: &#8220;She is staying with her aunt this week&#8221; (Ze logeert deze week bij haar tante). Het gaat om een situatie die niet permanent is.<\/p><\/div><div class=\"content-heading\"><h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3. Plannen in de nabije toekomst<\/h3><\/div><div class=\"content-paragraph\"><p>Je kunt de present continuous gebruiken om aan te geven wat je binnenkort gaat doen, vooral als het al is afgesproken. Bijvoorbeeld: &#8220;We are meeting them tonight&#8221; (We spreken vanavond met hen af) of &#8220;I am visiting my grandparents this weekend&#8221; (Ik ga dit weekend naar mijn grootouders).<\/p><\/div><div class=\"content-heading\"><h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4. Irritaties uitdrukken<\/h3><\/div><div class=\"content-paragraph\"><p>Als je iets vervelend vindt dat steeds gebeurt, gebruik je de present continuous met &#8216;always&#8217;. Bijvoorbeeld: &#8220;You are always losing your keys!&#8221; (Je raakt ook altijd je sleutels kwijt!) of &#8220;He is always complaining&#8221; (Hij klaagt ook altijd).<\/p><\/div><div class=\"content-heading\"><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Hoe maak je de present continuous?<\/h2><\/div><div class=\"content-paragraph\"><p>De opbouw is altijd hetzelfde: onderwerp + am\/is\/are + werkwoord-ing. Welke vorm van &#8217;to be&#8217; je gebruikt, hangt af van het onderwerp:<\/p><\/div><div class=\"content-table\"><figure class=\"wp-block-table aligncenter\"><table><tbody><tr><th>Persoon<\/th><th>Vorm van &#8217;to be&#8217;<\/th><th>Voorbeeld<\/th><\/tr><tr><td>I<\/td><td>am<\/td><td>I am working<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>You \/ We \/ They<\/td><td>are<\/td><td>They are working<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>He \/ She \/ It<\/td><td>is<\/td><td>She is working<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure><\/div><div class=\"content-heading\"><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Spellingsregels bij -ing toevoegen<\/h2><\/div><div class=\"content-paragraph\"><p>Als je -ing achter een werkwoord zet, moet je soms de spelling aanpassen. Let op deze drie belangrijke regels:<\/p><\/div><div class=\"content-heading\"><h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Werkwoorden die eindigen op -e<\/h3><\/div><div class=\"content-paragraph\"><p>Als een werkwoord eindigt op een stomme -e, laat je deze weg voordat je -ing toevoegt. Bijvoorbeeld: make \u2192 making, write \u2192 writing, dance \u2192 dancing.<\/p><\/div><div class=\"content-heading\"><h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Korte klinker + medeklinker<\/h3><\/div><div class=\"content-paragraph\"><p>Bij werkwoorden met een korte klinker gevolgd door \u00e9\u00e9n medeklinker, verdubbel je de laatste letter. Bijvoorbeeld: sit \u2192 sitting, run \u2192 running, stop \u2192 stopping. Let op: bij twee medeklinkers of een lange klinker doe je dit niet (help \u2192 helping, read \u2192 reading).<\/p><\/div><div class=\"content-heading\"><h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Werkwoorden die eindigen op -ie<\/h3><\/div><div class=\"content-paragraph\"><p>Als een werkwoord eindigt op -ie, verander je dit in -y voordat je -ing toevoegt. Bijvoorbeeld: lie \u2192 lying, die \u2192 dying, tie \u2192 tying.<\/p><\/div><div class=\"content-heading\"><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Signaalwoorden die je helpen<\/h2><\/div><div class=\"content-paragraph\"><p>Bepaalde woorden geven aan dat je waarschijnlijk de present continuous moet gebruiken. De belangrijkste zijn:<\/p><\/div><div class=\"content-list\"><ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><div class=\"content-list-item\"><li><strong>now<\/strong> (nu)<\/li><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"content-list-item\"><li><strong>at the moment<\/strong> (op dit moment)<\/li><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"content-list-item\"><li><strong>right now<\/strong> (op dit moment)<\/li><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"content-list-item\"><li><strong>look!<\/strong> (kijk!)<\/li><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"content-list-item\"><li><strong>listen!<\/strong> (luister!)<\/li><\/div><\/ul><\/div><div class=\"content-paragraph\"><p>Als je deze woorden in een zin ziet, is de kans groot dat je de present continuous nodig hebt.<\/p><\/div><div class=\"content-heading\"><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Veelgemaakte fouten<\/h2><\/div><div class=\"content-paragraph\"><p>Sommige werkwoorden gebruik je bijna nooit in de present continuous, ook al gebeurt iets nu. Dit zijn vooral werkwoorden die met denken, voelen of bezit te maken hebben. Voorbeelden: know (weten), like (leuk vinden), love (houden van), want (willen), need (nodig hebben), understand (begrijpen).<\/p><\/div><div class=\"content-paragraph\"><p>Je zegt dus niet &#8220;I am knowing the answer&#8221;, maar &#8220;I know the answer&#8221;. Ook al weet je het op dit moment.<\/p><\/div><div class=\"content-heading\"><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Oefenen met de present continuous<\/h2><\/div><div class=\"content-paragraph\"><p>Wil je deze tijd goed onder de knie krijgen? Oefen dan vooral met het herkennen van situaties waarin je de present continuous gebruikt. Maak zinnen over wat je nu aan het doen bent, of schrijf op wat je plannen zijn voor het weekend. Je kunt ook oefentoetsen maken om te checken of je de spelling goed toepast.<\/p><\/div><div class=\"content-paragraph\"><p>Let bij het oefenen vooral op het verschil tussen de present continuous en de present simple.
