Kwadratische vergelijkingen komen vaak voor in wiskunde, bijvoorbeeld bij het berekenen van oppervlakten, het vinden van snijpunten in grafieken of bij natuurkundige toepassingen. Er moet een kwadraat in staan! Deze formule ziet er in de grafiek uit als een parabool.\u00a0Je wilt weten waar de parabool de X as snijdt &#8211;> X = ? <br><br>Je krijgt dus eerst een kwadratische vergelijking en vervolgens gebruik je de ABC formule om deze op te lossen! <br><br>(In de formule zie je een \u00b1 teken staan. Dit betekent dat je de formule twee keer doen. Eerst met + en dan met -. Later gaan we dit met een voorbeeld laten zien).<br><br>Om de formule te gebruiken, wil je eerst a b en c identificeren. Deze kan je dan in de formule invullen. <br><br>Opnieuw: <strong>ax\u00b2 + bx + c = 0<\/strong><br><br><strong>a<\/strong> is de co\u00ebffici\u00ebnt van de term met\u00a0x<strong>\u00b2<\/strong>\u00a0(de kwadratische term),<br><br><strong>b<\/strong> is de co\u00ebffici\u00ebnt van de term met\u00a0x\u00a0(de lineaire term),<br><br><strong>c<\/strong> is de constante term (het getal zonder\u00a0x).<br><br>Nu je deze hebt gevonden, ga je eerst de discriminant berekenen.<\/p>\n\n                                            <\/div>\n                <\/div>\n            <\/div>\n        <\/div>\n    <\/div>\n<\/section><div class=\"content-heading\"><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Wat betekent de discriminant?<\/h2><\/div><div class=\"content-paragraph\"><p class=\"has-white-color has-vivid-purple-background-color has-text-color has-background has-link-color wp-elements-06510e4fe5ca7bc7b5c280c734bc7334\">Het stukje onder de wortel&nbsp;<em>(b<sup>2<\/sup>-4ac)<\/em>&nbsp;noem je de&nbsp;<strong>discriminant<\/strong>&nbsp;.
