3. Oefenen met StudyGo

In short: You can practise with StudyGo in different ways, such as using vocabulary lists and practice tests or via tuition or chatting with tutors. For these different ways of practising we process your data. We use your data to provide the service, but also to tailor StudyGo to the needs of our users.

Learn words and concepts

You can save existing lists of words or concepts or create your own. You can also add learning objectives and link lists to them and organise your lists in folders. You can share your lists with others. You can also create a group and link your classmates, friends or students to this group. In your Account you can see an overview of all this.

The use of this information is part of the service and is necessary to be able to offer you the service (thus it is our legitimate interest in making an offer and inviting new users to join the StudyGo platform).

When you practise with the StudyGo lists, we keep track of the way in which you as a user practise with StudyGo. This Information is also stored in our systems and used to analyse, optimise and improve StudyGo (see also Section 8: Research and Analysis).

Practice tests

With StudyGo you can prepare for tests by making practice tests. You can indicate which grade you would like to obtain for your test. After you have made an exercise test, we will give you an estimate of the grade you have achieved. Two weeks after you have taken the practice test we will send you an email to ask how you did on the test and what your score was.

We combine this information with the education data you have entered and we need it to tailor the functionalities to you as a user. This way we know that you can practice with lists or practice tests that suit the type of education you receive and the level and class you are in. The use of this Information is part of the Service and is necessary for us to be able to offer you the Service (necessary for the performance of the contract between StudyGo and you).

We also use the above Information to analyse, optimise and improve StudyGo (see also Section 8: Research and Analysis). We do this based on our legitimate interest as it enables us, for example, to see whether our practice tests are up to standard and whether we need to improve them.

Chat with tutors

If you have any questions when preparing for your tests, you can use the tutor chat. We will then put you through to a tutor who you can ask your question to via the chat. In the chat you can ask the tutor your question, but you can also send pictures. The tutor will then help you with your question.

The use of this Information is part of the service and is necessary in the first place to be able to offer you the service (it is necessary for the performance of the agreement between StudyGo and you). This Information is also stored in our systems and used to analyse, optimise and improve StudyGo (see also Section 8: Research and Analysis). For example, we can see whether our practice tests are up to standard and whether we need to improve them. We also store the chat history and your conversation with the tutor to learn from this (which questions do students ask) and to prevent undesirable behaviour. We do this based on our legitimate interest in improving the service and to prevent such behaviour and abuse of our service.

Questions & Answers

If you have a question about the course material, you can post a question on StudyGo and get answers from other users or tutors. You can also answer questions posed by other users. With these answers you can earn points that determine your StudyGo level.

When you ask or answer a question, we process the content of the question or answer and the subject that the question or answer is about. We then automatically link (‘tag’) a school level, year and/or book to make indexing by year, level and book possible. This allows users to filter by year, level and book when searching for questions and answers.

With your question or answer, the following information will be made public: your first name, level of education and year. This information is also visible to users without an account. Other users will be able to see more information about you. You can always change this information.

The use of this information is part of the service and is primarily necessary to be able to offer you the service (thus it is our legitimate interest in making an offer and inviting new users to join the StudyGo platform). This Information is also stored in our systems and used to analyse, optimise and improve StudyGo (see also Section 8: Research and Analysis). For example, we can see the quality of the answers and what questions students ask. Finally, we monitor the questions and answers to prevent undesirable behaviour (We process this Information under our legitimate interest in preventing such behaviour and misuse of the service).

Online tutoring

You can register yourself or your child for online tutoring. You can talk to a tutor via video and/or audio. By means of video, shared screen or shared whiteboard, the tutor can help you via video, audio and/or by drawing or showing pictures. In order to plan the tutoring we need your contact details and information about the subject of the tutoring.

The use of your Information is part of the service and is necessary to provide the service to you (it is necessary for the execution of the agreement between StudyGo and you). Your Information is also stored in our systems and used to analyse, optimise and improve StudyGo (see also Section 8: Research and Analysis). This allows us, for example, to analyse which subjects/topics are being tutored for and adjust our services accordingly and to analyse whether our tutoring is up to standard. We do this based on our legitimate interest

Om te beoordelen of wij jou kunnen inzetten voor een specifiek onderzoek, vragen we naar jouw onderwijsprofiel zoals je leerjaar, leerniveau of welke vakken je volgt. We use the above information because it is in our legitimate interest to make our service as easy and useful as possible for you or because you give us your consent to do so depending on whether it is the marketing information or not.

6. Computer informatie

In short: We collect information from you via your computer. We do this to make StudyGo work properly and to be able to secure StudyGo. This information is called ‘automatically generated information’. This information consists for example of your IP address, the computer system you use and the pages you visit on StudyGo.

In order for StudyGo to work optimally (for example, to display pages properly and to secure the website and the app), we need certain Information. We therefore collect automatically generated information about how you surf the Internet (surfing behaviour) during your use of StudyGo. This information consists of your IP address (the number of your computer that makes it possible to identify your computer), the type of browser (the computer programme used to view internet pages), the computer system you use, the pages you visit and we place cookies.

We use this information to tailor our services to your needs and to resolve technical and security issues. Your information is processed based on our legitimate interest in relation to cookies required and necessary for operation of the StudyGo and/or upon your consent in relation to other types of cookies (i.e. cookies not strictly necessary for website operation e.g. marketing cookies).

For example, we use the IP address, account number and pages/cookies to investigate any unusual situations or to break down hacking attempts. Also, if we suddenly see a lot of use of your account on different devices, we can do something about it.

We use the browser data and the computer system to see how many people are using a particular configuration and adjust the platform accordingly. In addition, this information helps us to debug problems, so that we can see exactly in which situation problems have arisen.

This processing of your information is necessary for our legitimate interest in making StudyGo secure and as user-friendly as possible.

We also use this Information to compile anonymous statistical data. See also section 8: Research and Analysis. If the automatically generated information is collected using cookies, Chapter 7: Cookies also applies.

7. Cookies

In het kort: Wij gebruiken cookies. Je kunt ons cookie statement lezen als je meer wilt weten.

In addition to the provisions of the Privacy Statement, the provisions of the Cookie Statement of StudyGo apply. The Cookie Statement states which cookies are used and what the purpose of those cookies is. The Cookie Statement can be read at [insert link].

8. Onderzoek en analyse

In short: We use your personal data to analyse, maintain, secure and improve StudyGo. In this way, we can make adjustments to our website and apps as necessary.

StudyGo aims to provide services of the highest quality. To this end, we are working all the time to analyse, maintain, secure and optimise StudyGo so that, if necessary, we can make changes to our website and app.

We may use your Information for this research, such as:

the number of word or term lists you use;
the exercise time per exercise;
the duration of your visit to/use of (a specific functionality of) StudyGo;
which word or concept lists have been used and what the results are;
for which subjects/topics tutoring is requested;
which pages of StudyGo have been visited.

To the extent this Information contains your personal data we do this based on our legitimate interest to improve the quality of services. Only employees of StudyGo who have been specially appointed for this purpose have access to your information. The results of the research are always aggregated. This means that the data in the research results cannot be traced back to you personally. Furthermore, we use anonymised data wherever possible. Anonymised data is data that no longer relates to a person.

Examples
Below we give examples of how we may use your information, so that the purpose of StudyGo is clear.

Unfortunately, sometimes StudyGo is not accessible. When you report this to StudyGo, we analyse your account details. We will then try to find out why you cannot log in and what the error is. We also check if this problem occurs with other users and try to improve StudyGo as a whole. We also investigate the quality of the content within StudyGo. If, for example, we see that lists are underused or contain many errors, we can adjust this.

We keep track of which rehearsal options/settings are the best.

We monitor your login and game behaviour to see if there are any strange patterns that indicate your account has been hacked. For example, if we see that your username is being used with the wrong password very often, we will respond appropriately.

If we see that certain lists have not been used for a long time, we will delete these lists to clean up our list database.

If we see that there is a high demand for tutoring in certain subjects, we will investigate adjusting our services accordingly.

9. Bewaren van informatie

In short: We do not keep your data any longer than necessary, usually no longer than 1 year. Sometimes we need to keep your data longer based on the law.

In principle, we will keep your information for as long as is necessary to achieve the goals described in this document or to comply with legal (retention) obligations. The retention period therefore depends on the nature of the data and the purposes for which StudyGo processes these data. We have drawn up an internal policy for this and we adhere to it.

We retain your account details for as long as you use our service. If you stop using StudyGo (after termination of the agreement) we will keep your account and information about you for another year. This enables us to reactivate your membership without deleting all your account details.

After 1 year we delete your account and the data on your use of StudyGo is also deleted from the account. We do keep your e-mail address and which class you are in for 6 years after termination of the account. We keep your e-mail address to send you marketing related message unless you have withdrawn your consent for receiving such message from us as explained in Section 5.

After the retention period has expired, we will delete or anonymise your Information. If we make the information anonymous, we use the remaining data for our own research and analysis in order to gain insight into the use of StudyGo.

10. Jouw gegevens delen?

In short: We never sell your personal data to other companies. We will only share your data with other companies if we have to, for example, on the basis of the law or in a court case or if you give your consent.

If StudyGo instructs any companies that have access to your personal data, it does so in a secure way. StudyGo makes arrangements with those companies to ensure that your details are safe there.

Without your consent, your information will not be passed on to any parties that do not belong to StudyGo, except for the following.

StudyGo may supply your details to third parties if StudyGo is obliged to do so based on legislation and/or regulations, if StudyGo considers this necessary in legal proceedings or if StudyGo considers this necessary to protect its rights.

StudyGo will also provide Information to companies engaged by StudyGo which process personal data on behalf of StudyGo. Your Information will only be used for the execution of that assignment. An example of this is the hosting of StudyGo’s central database, or the software that makes it possible to offer online tutoring. StudyGo has concluded (processor) agreements with these companies in which arrangements are made about such things as the security measures that they must take to protect your Information.

As StudyGo is part of Futurewhiz B.V., we may also share your Information within the companies from our capital group (mostly within the territory of the EEA) for purposes indicated in this Privacy Statement and to the extent that sharing relates to purposes for which your Information was originally collected.

11. Beschermen van jouw informatie

In short: We ensure that your personal data is well secured. This is very important to us. We store your data in Europe. And when we store your data outside of Europe, we make sure that it is secure.

It is very important to us that your information is properly secured. We have therefore implemented appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your Information from loss or from unlawful processing.

Furthermore, it is important to us that your Information is in principle stored within Europe (the Economic Area). Where the Information is stored outside Europe, we ensure that this is done in accordance with the law and that the required level of protection is guaranteed. For example, we have signed the EU Model Clauses with these parties or base the transfer on an adequacy decision.

12. Relevante advertenties

13. Wat zijn je rechten?

In short: We think it is important that you know how we handle your personal data and that you have rights to protect your data. For example, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the party that checks whether companies comply with the privacy law (the Polish Data Protection Authority). You also have the right to:

We may refuse your request, for example because we cannot or do not have to comply with it (legally speaking). We will also inform you of this rejection. Furthermore, we may ask you to identify yourself before processing your request.

Please note that you have the right to file a complaint with the Polish Data Protection Authority. Of course, we hope that this will not be necessary!
